Questions, answered.

Everything about Korean Facial Acupuncture, your first visit, and what makes GlazeAcu different.

The Basics

Does GlazeAcu hurt?

Much less than you might expect. We use ultra-fine needles designed specifically for the face, so most clients feel only a quick, tiny pinch. The session is often so relaxing that clients fall asleep — and many tell us it was far more comfortable than they imagined.

What makes Korean Facial Acupuncture different?

Most facial acupuncture focuses on circulation, skin tone, and overall rejuvenation. GlazeAcu™ takes a more targeted approach by assessing your unique facial muscle patterns and working directly with the small muscles that shape your contours. The result is a more defined jawline, a slimmer-looking face, and a naturally photogenic appearance.

Is it similar to a regular spa facial?

It feels deeply relaxing, but it works very differently. A traditional facial primarily treats the surface of the skin, while GlazeAcu™ focuses on the facial muscles beneath it to refine your contours from every angle — creating a more balanced, sculpted, and camera-ready look.

Results & Sessions

When will I see results?

You'll notice visible de-puffing and a more defined jawline on the same day, which makes GlazeAcu™ especially popular before major events. For longer-lasting contour refinement and better facial balance, we recommend completing your first five sessions weekly only in the beginning.

How often should I come in?

If you have a wedding, an important event, or a major shoot coming up and want to refine your facial contours quickly, we recommend our Big Day Ready 5-Pack. This short-term intensive plan is designed to help create a more defined, camera-ready face line before your big day.

For ongoing care, every treatment plan is different. The number and frequency of sessions depend on your individual facial muscle patterns, tension, and asymmetry, so we recommend beginning with a consultation and assessment before creating your personalized plan.

For most clients, we typically recommend about two sessions per month to maintain and continue refining their results.

How long do results last?

The immediate sculpting and de-puffing effects from your first session typically last several days. GlazeAcu™ goes beyond a vague "feels better" result, with measurable changes supported by data presented at IMCAS Paris. As the deeper facial muscles become more balanced through consecutive sessions, your slimmer, more sculpted contour can be maintained over time.

Your Visit

What happens during my first session?

We begin with a detailed assessment of your facial muscles, looking for areas of tension, imbalance, and loss of definition. Before we begin, we recommend taking a quick selfie so you can take the same photo again afterward and compare the difference. We then customize the acupuncture treatment to your face and finish with Korean skincare and sunscreen. You'll leave visibly de-puffed, more sculpted, and ready to get back to your day.

Can I wear makeup to my session?

Arriving with just sunscreen is ideal, but full makeup is completely fine. If you're coming between work, meetings, or shoots, there's no need to remove everything beforehand. We carefully cleanse and sanitize only the areas being treated, making the session easy to fit into your day.

Can I apply makeup and go to an event right after?

Absolutely. With no redness, swelling, or downtime, you can touch up or reapply your makeup immediately after your session. Your face line looks instantly slimmer and more de-puffed, which is why many clients book GlazeAcu™ as a same-day treatment before an important event or shoot.

Safety & Care

Is there any downtime or are there any side effects?

Unlike laser treatments or surgery, GlazeAcu™ does not cause severe redness or require downtime that interferes with your social schedule. Minor bruising can occasionally occur depending on your individual tendency, but it can easily be covered with makeup. Most clients return to their day immediately, with visible de-puffing and a slimmer-looking face line.

Is it safe, and who performs the treatment?

Every session is personally performed by Dr. Damhui Kim, KMD, L.Ac., a dual-qualified clinician who has specialized exclusively in facial acupuncture for over a decade. As a Doctor of Korean Medicine and a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist, she brings an exceptional level of expertise developed through extensive clinical experience in Seoul and research presented at international aesthetic medicine congresses. This background allows her to provide a highly specialized Korean Facial Acupuncture experience.

Is anyone not a good candidate?

Your safety always comes first. We do not recommend this treatment during the first trimester of pregnancy, while taking blood-thinning medication, or for those managing serious medical conditions. If any of these apply to you, please let us know when booking so we can advise you appropriately.
